Forenom expands its offerings in Vaasa – New hostel opens in Klemettilä

Forenom’s has opened it’s newest hostel, Forenom Boutique Hostel Vaasa. The hostel complements Forenom’s already extensive range of accommodation options in the city and in the Ostrobothnia region.

Forenom Boutique Vaasa Hostel is located in Klemettilä, Vaasa. It is a stylish, cozy, and modern hostel with ten rooms available, including seven single rooms and three twin rooms.

“We want to invest here because there’s a lot of potential in the region”, says Matias Åminne, Forenom’s Area Manager in Ostrobothnia.

Forenom has a long-term contract with the landlord Kvadraten, who owns the property. Kenneth Krooks, from the entrepreneurial family behind Kvadraten, highlights the large free parking area as one of the site’s advantages.

“Guests can come here even with their heavy vehicles, such as trucks and buses, without having to worry about where to park”, says Kenneth.

Welcoming all types of guests

Lizette Krooks, also from the Kvadraten family, emphasizes that the hostel is also suitable for other types of guests beyond those who come here for work. The hostel is within walking distance of the city center, and the area can be accessed by rental electric scooters.

“All ten rooms are equipped with their own refrigerator, while kitchen and laundry facilities are shared”, says Lizette.

Solving customer problems

A large portion of Forenom’s customers are corporate clients. Matias says that Forenom works flexibly and closely with its customers. Their toolbox includes a wide range of accommodation options, with over 8,000 furnished apartments available across the Nordic region and Europe.

Forenom also provides services in areas where the company does not have its own properties to offer. Matias mentions Teuva as a local example. In Teuva, a company needed temporary accommodation for around fifteen people, but nothing suitable was available on the market. Forenom solved the challenge by renting a service home that was empty and refurbished it to fit the accommodation needs.

“The sustainability aspect of what we do is important; we are happy to use existing infrastructure”, says Matias.

Sustainability focus in Klemettilä

Forenom’s sustainability thinking also includes the new hostel in Klemetsö. The building, located at Sorakatu 3, was previously used as office and representation spaces, where concrete sales were conducted.

Kenneth Krooks explains that Kvadraten became the owner 1.5-2 years ago, after which a complete renovation began.

“Our family believes in Klemettilä; the area has developed a lot in recent years and continues to develop”, he says.

Praising the collaboration with Forenom

Both Kenneth and Lizette praise the collaboration with Forenom. Lizette says it works very well, and the dialogue is smooth.

“We also appreciate that Forenom, as a tenant, takes good care of the property”, says Lizette.

Kenneth especially appreciates that what is agreed upon with Forenom is always upheld.

“With Forenom, a handshake is enough”, says Kenneth.

The Krooks entrepreneurial family has a long-term partnership with Forenom. Since 2020, they have also been landlords for Forenom’s apartment hotel in Vaasa, offering 68 units.

Complementary offerings

Matias Åminne says that Forenom is also continuing to invest in the existing apartment hotel in Vaasa, located at Hovioikeudenpuistikko 19. The customer groups are slightly different, and the hotel and hostel complement each other. The apartment hotel in the city center attracts many business travelers and is distinguished by its central location.

Forenom also offers about 20 other apartments scattered throughout the city. In the whole of Ostrobothnia, Forenom has approximately 200 apartments available. In the Kokkola/Pietarsaari area, Forenom’s apartment capacity has grown by over 100% in a year, from 35 to 80 apartments. Even in smaller towns like Närpiö and Kristiinankaupunki, Forenom has properties available.
