Forenom experiences: Caverion
Accommodation for power plant workers
Home-like accommodation for power plant workers
The employees of industrial services company Caverion Industria Oy spent over a year working on a power plant project in the capital region of Helsinki, Finland. At the peak of the project, Caverion had just over 140 employees who needed accommodation. For help, Caverion turned to Forenom.
“Collaboration with Forenom has been very flexible and has went very well. For the purposes of this power plant project, we initially required accommodation for 60-70 people, but in the end we needed accommodation for over 140 Caverionians. In any case, the accommodation was taken care of, even on short notice,” says Paavo Laakso, Project Manager at Caverion Industria.
During the peak period, the Caverionians were enjoying accommodation in four different locations: Forenom Hostel Vantaa Airport, Forenom Aparthotel Helsinki Herttoniemi, Forenom Serviced Apartments Vantaa Rajakylä and Forenom Hostel Kerava. Traditionally, for projects of a similar type, employees stay at a camp or in rental apartments located in the same area as the jobsite. Aparthotels such as Forenom Aparthotel Helsinki Herttoniemi are a handy accommodation option for long-term stays.
“Aparthotels offer more peace of your own, if this is your preference. The aparthotel has a refrigerator, microwave and a coffee maker for preparing your breakfast or evening snack. In addition, the rooms offer the company of others as well as your own bathroom. Also, there is more room available,” explains Laakso.
“In the guests’ opinions, the best parts are the adequate parking space, cleaning, changing of bed linens, ease of getting around, convenience of the door codes after some initial difficulties, safety, good access to public transportation and the reception service. Parking space is extremely important as the guests often come from great distances in their own automobiles. The reception staff member built up the impression of the location and increased the level of enjoyment,” Laakso continues.
“The distance from the aparthotel to the jobsite is good and the overall arrangements have been working so well that the location is a viable option in the future with similar projects,” Laakso states.
