For a long time, corporate housing in Sweden has lacked a clear legal framework. The new legislation changes that, recognising corporate housing as its own category for the first time.
Here is what changes from 1 July:
- Wider accommodation availability across Sweden, as more property owners can now partner with operators like Forenom
- Agreements are signed by the company as a legal entity and tied to a specific employee or project, ensuring full clarity and control
- The employee can cover the cost themselves or receive the accommodation as a staff benefit, whichever works best
- Flexible accommodation agreements of up to one year, well suited for projects, secondments and temporary assignments
- Clearer rules for block leasing bring transparency and security for all parties

For the first time, legislation recognises corporate housing as its own category: service-led, fully furnished and built to flex. That is exactly how Forenom works. We are also developing our digital services to meet the new opportunities — more on that soon.
