In case of a power outage
We have been notified from authorities that we might experience controlled, brief power outages if the electricity consumption exceeds the electricity production. The power outage may last for up to few hours at a time and that time will not result in any significant lowering of temperature in apartments. It may be announced in advance, or it can start unexpectedly. Forenom will naturally inform guests separately if we know this will happen.
How to prepare in advance for possible electrical power cuts?
- Make sure you have updated correct guest contact information to Forenom. How to do this?
- Regularly test that your fire alarm works and inform us immediately if it’s not working.
- Reserve a battery-operated flashlight and batteries − you can also use the flashlight of your mobile phone if you have power left on your phone. It is also a good idea to reserve a charged backup battery or travel charger for charging your phone.
- Reserve a drinking water (e.g., a water canister or a large bottle of water) and a food that does not require heating.

What should I do in a case of a power outage?
- Please switch off electrical devices. It is especially important to turn off the stove, iron, coffee maker and washing machine. That way they will not start a fire when the power comes back on.
- Please avoid opening the freezer and fridge.
- If using candles, be extra careful not to cause a fire.
- Please do not use the lift. Lifts will not work during an electrical power cut. If you are stuck in a lift during a power cut, press the alarm button. You can also use your mobile phone to call for help. Do not panic, you will get help as soon as possible.
- For safety reasons, avoid entering the common areas and indoor parking facilities during a power cut.
- Please do not call the emergency number for non-urgent matters.
- Avoid using water or taking a shower. It may not be possible to flush the toilet in all homes during a power cut. Water may not necessarily be available immediately when the power returns. When water starts running again, it may be discoloured or cloudy. Run the tap until the water is clear.

We hope you find this information useful. Please note that Forenom is not liable for the possible damages or costs caused by power outages.
