Intensive work is in progress in Kockums’ former administration building in Varvsstaden. This is where the Västra Hamnen district’s first Aparthotel will soon open. With little time left until the grand opening, a lot of work still remains. Henrik Thomasson, newly appointed Country Manager of Forenom Sweden is confident that the gates to Stora Varvsgatan 10 will open as planned in November.

– I am very pleased that we ended up with everything perfectly on schedule. Everyone involved in the construction process and in Varvsstaden has been equally professional and committed. The project has been able to flow smoothly despite its size, says Henrik Thomasson.
With due care, for the last year Forenom has transformed Kockums’ former administration building into a modern long stay accommodation. Minimizing the ecological footprints by renovating existing properties instead of building new ones is an important puzzle piece in Forenom’s sustainability work. And completely consistent with the general vision of the development of Forenom Aparthotel Malmö Varvsstaden.
– We have guided this old building into the future, and it hasn’t always been easy. But there is such a strong local commitment throughout the Västra Hamnen district. The feedback from our future neighbors, guests and suppliers has been fantastic and it is of course very motivating, says Måns Friberg, Regional Manager at Forenom.
Malmö is growing rapidly and there is an increasing need among companies that hire consultants and guest workers to find accommodation for longer periods of time – often up to a couple of months. The location of Varvsstaden – between the city center of Malmö and the sea, just a few minutes from the Central Station is ideal for people as well as for businesses.
